What's Happening in Lincoln County

The Ruidoso Valley Chamber of Commerce maintains a schedule of local area events on their website. We at the Wortley will be happy to see you any time, busy or not. We sometimes have rooms available during the busier weekends, when the rooms in Ruidoso get booked up.

Partners in Preservation of Lincoln State Monument offers monthly lectures and workshops. For the schedule of coming events go to www.LincolnPartner.org.

Fire Up Your Harley

Motorcycles will be converging on Lincoln County every September for the annual Golden Aspen Motorcycle Rally. The September air is crisp and it is a perfect time to cruise to historic Lincoln.

Fire Up Your Chuck Wagon

Chuck wagons will be converging on Lincoln County every October for the annual Lincoln County Cowboy Symposium. There will be cowboy cooking, concerts and more.

Knocking on Heaven's Door

Billy the Kid will have J. W. and Bob (Ollinger, not Dylan) "Knocking on Heaven's Door" daily, the first weekend in August. That is when we have our annual "Old Lincoln Days" pageant. The reenactment of the "Last Escape of Billy the Kid" will be at 8:30 PM Friday and Saturday and 3:00 PM Sunday. Our grand parade will be making it's way down the main street at 11:00 AM on Sunday. The museums, exhibits and living history groups will be going on all day every day, so come early and stay late.
